We were very impressed with this pub and it was evident from our visit that the landlord is passionate about the business. A lovely, traditional Peak District pub – excellent food and drink with a warm feel. Lovely steaks.
Located in the centre of the Bakewell, overlooking the river, this is one of our favourites in Bakewell – great food. In the summer there is a nice outdoor area overlooking the river.
This is a book lovers heaven, hosting a multitude of genres. There is a café on site serving: hot drinks, cakes and lunches. A surprising treat, we enjoy it here! Not as you may expect. Look out for it off the main road.
If you are looking for something different, why not enjoy an authentic Afro-Caribbean meal, cooked by Stella in her farmhouse conservatory. She serves food every lunchtime, except Tuesdays. In the evenings she is open every Friday and Saturday night, or any evening for 6 or more people.
This is one of our personal favourites, with an inviting atmosphere and good quality food. An all-round winner in a pleasant village location.
Set in the heart of the village of Baslow, this is a lovely restaurant/bar with a more formal feel than your traditional country pub. There is a wide selection of food with the main menu and a light bite option available. One to consider for Sunday lunch.
This country pub is located a short jot off the High Peak Trail. This pub is more of a restaurant, with a bar and a main restaurant area. With an extensive choice of food, this is one of the more expensive pubs in the area. We have always enjoyed our meals here, generally good food and service to match.
Situated in the heart of the pretty village, Great Longstone. The Crispin is a homely pub, serving good value homemade pub favourites. The mug ceiling is particularly special – you’ll see what we mean. Its cosy feel and log burning fires are lovely for those colder months. Also houses a beer garden for those warmer months
This historic pub is located a stones throw from the Monsal Trail. They serve a range of traditional pub dishes and tapas. It serves the very popular Thornbridge Brewery beers. This pub has a cosy, friendly feel – the warm glow from the fires give it a nice atmosphere. One of our favourites, albeit a small pub with only a few tables
Located in the centre of Bakewell, opposite Co-op, The Peacock is one of the more expensive pubs in Bakewell. Serving all the pub classics with some rustic French dishes included, using locally sourced ingredients. They also serve a range of Peak Ales.
A classic French restaurant with a French chef Eric and his wife Christiana. The menu and the food are excellent. If you are looking for a special place to eat, this is the place for you. They offer a lunchtime and evening midweek set menu which is excellent value for money for the type of food served. We love it here for a special occasion!
You can walk to this pub directly from Bolehill! This is a pub with really terrific views over Lathkill Dale. We enjoy a drink here.
This is another option for a pub walk from the door A cosy pub serving simple, honest pub food. This is one of our favourite traditional pubs in the area. Look out (and listen out!) for the clocks
Situated on the perimeter edge of the village green within the pretty village of Monyash. You can sit in either the bar or restaurant area and the menu consists of superb pub food. Generally the portions are very generous – fantastic for those with a larger appetite! A real favourite of ours.
